After I picked up a seasonal job at a major department store, I told myself that I would come in here and write little stories based on my experiences. The problem is, when you're working a full-time job, writing, and then working a seasonal job, you don't have TIME to write little stories! So I ended up giving up most of my shifts. However, I did collect enough experiences to turn into stories at some point so don't be surprised if I they start springing up in the blog.
I attempted NaNoWriMo this year, and then had to abandon that as well due to the above circumstances. The good news is that before I abandoned it, I started working on Book 2 of Winter Lakes! I'm so excited about it. In fact, I'm going to work on it right after I'm done with this blog entry. Yay!
The first sketches for the cover of Vizcaya should be coming back soon from the artist. He's going to give me a few of them and then I get to tell him which one I like best and what direction to go in. I can't wait to see them. It's tough because even though we're taught to not judge a book by its cover, subconsciously we all do. It's the book's first impression! And we all know that first impressions are very important. So what I want to know from you guys is what are some of YOUR favorite Young Adult book covers? Which ones made you pick up the book at Barnes & Noble, or click on to read more about it on Amazon? Let me know!
I'm working on setting an official release date for Vizcaya. So keep an eye out for that date!
Alright, Winter Lakes 2, here I come!
