So my first big writing project is underway! I made the decision last year to try and experiment with the whole self-publishing idea. I chose Vizcaya to be the book to receive the self-publishing treatment and yesterday I launched the Kickstarter.com page to hopefully help fund the entire thing! I'm so excited about it, and I hope you guys are too. Please feel free to donate and spread the word to anyone who you think might be interested in backing a creative endeavor!

Aside from working hard on Vizcaya, I've been trying to catch up on some reading and managed to finish a book in less than 24 hours for the first time in forever. The book that prompted this miraculous feat is called Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. This book is amazing! If you haven't read it, then run to your nearest bookstore and get it now! It's a page turner, but more importantly than that, it's got this amazing emotion in it that I can't even describe. I was completely absorbed into the lead character's mind as I went on this journey with him and I found myself crying at one point. I won't say what point because I don't want to give anything away, but trust me, go read this book now!
And last but not least, we're less than 48 hours away from the midnight showing of the last Harry Potter movie! I have my tickets and I'm ready! But I'm so sad at the same time. :( I don't want it to end! Happy Potter viewing everyone!
Oh wait, there's one more thing. I succumbed to Twitter. Follow me! @TheLinaRivera
