Dark Room
I was a Photography minor at USC, so here I'll try and upload what I can of my work. It's going to require scanning since this was before the widespread use of digital cameras. Unfortunately my scanner is not great, but it's better than nothing!
Project Title: Roomies
Summary: A series of photographs documenting life with my college roommates. Divided into 6 parts: Dinner, The Sleepover, Bunk Beds, After the Funeral, Halloween, and Portraits.
Artist's Note: Originally when I presented this project in class, it wasn't received with great commentary, and at the time I also felt that something was a bit off about it. Originally this project was put together in book form with my explanations for the events in each picture. Then, all these years later, this project left forgotten in a bottom book case shelf, my cat sprayed all over it causing me to have to throw it away. When I scanned the pictures I realized that what was off about it all those years ago, was that I applied a written narrative to a group of photos that didn't need any. The photos stand alone, especially after all these years. So in a way, my cat's mishap has finally allowed me to present this piece the way it probably should've always been presented.
