Vizcaya is currently in the hands of my peer reviewers, so hopefully in a couple of weeks, I'll have it completely revised and ready to go to the editor. I can't wait! In the meantime, I'm going to focus on my script, a couple of short stories, and of course, the second book in the Winter Lakes series.
Yesterday were the VMA's which I almost didn't watch out of principle. (THEY DON'T PLAY MUSIC VIDEOS ANYMORE!) But then I knew they were going to show the Hunger Games teaser trailer so I sat to watch, and then ended up missing it anyway when I went to pick up the roommate from work. Luckily I caught it online this morning! It was pretty cool to see Katniss walking among the trees and then realize that she was, in fact, in the arena. I'm a huge fan of Battle Royale, so I'm happy to see something like it come to the big screen. Dystopian novels for the win!
Speaking of dystopian novels, that's actually my favorite genre. The majority of my favorite books are dystopian in nature (Brave New World, We, 1984, The Giver...I could keep going), but I've never tried to actually write one because I love it too much. I feel like I wouldn't do it justice, and I would want it to be perfect, and it's almost impossible to write a perfect book unless you're Gabriel Garcia Marquez or Harper Lee. But maybe someday I'll get over that and try my hand at one. In the meantime, I'll stick to ghosts. ;)
